Britain Hart Wins Inaugural BKFC Women’s Strawweight World Championship

The Fighting News

Great Falls, Montana (September 10, 2022) In five rounds Britain Hart Beltran ((6-3-0) proved that she has what it takes to dominate the 115 pound division in the fastest growing combat sport organization.

Hart was able to control the pace of the fight, using her height and reach advantage effectively, scoring with the jab, landing effective combinations and winning most of the exchanges.  Her opponent, Charisa Sigala (1-2-1)  came to fight. The action was heated throughout the match and both women remained aggressive the entire ten minutes of action.  No backwards steps from either, and no quarter given from Hart. Cuts on both eyes did not slow Sigala, who fought her hardest in the fifth round but simply could not figure out Hart’s defense and land anything effective.

The decision was unanimous with all judges scoring the fight 50-45.

Hart has shown tremendous growth, overcoming losses in her first two fights with the organization. She avenged her first loss in 2018 at BKFC 2, against Bec Rawlings, at BKFC 26 this past June. Her other loss was at the hands of Christine Ferea, who currently holds the 125 pound title, in 2019 at BKFC 5.  Although she lost to Ferea again at Knucklemania II, Hart continued to train, grow and evolve.

Hart’s current team includes trainer Ryan Perez, husband and former BKFC Heavyweight Champion Joey Beltran, and Kallia “Pink Tyson” Kourini. Hart also included sparring with two-time world champion boxer Maureen Shea in her training camp. Shea and Hart go back a long way, having both trained at the famed KunckleHeadz Boxing in Ventura, California. This also marks the second world title for trainer Ryan Perez, the first coming alongside bantamweight Jarrod “Kid Gatti” Grant. Better known as the BK Cheatcode, Perez has a growing stable of bareknuckle fighters including Gorjan Slaveski, Howard Davis, Blake Davis and Bryce Henry.
