At 44 years old, Gamboa showed the experience and technical ability that made him one of Cuba’s most accomplished fighters. He dictated the action over five rounds against Yesner “Cuajadita” Talavera, earning a dominant unanimous decision with all three judges scoring the bout 50-44.
