World Championship Boxing returns to the Theater at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, June 11th on the eve of the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade! In the main event, three-time world champion ROMAN “ROCKY” MARTINEZ (29-2-3, 17 KOs) and WBO featherweight world champion VASYL LOMACHENKO (5-1, 3 KOs) face-off for Martinez’s WBO junior lightweight world championship.
The 2008 and 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist Lomachenko from Ukraine is widely considered to be one of the greatest amateur boxers of all time, and captured a world title in only his third professional bout. He will be looking to add another belt as he moves up in weight to face Puerto Rican star Martinez.
In the co-feature, undefeated lightweight sensation, the Pride of Puerto Rico, FELIX “EL DIAMANTE” VERDEJO (21-0, 14 KOs) returns to “The Mecca of Boxing” as he continues his quest for a world title.
Plus, don’t miss the U.S. debut of Chinese icon ZOU SHIMING (7-1, 2 KOs). Trained by Hall of Famer Freddie Roach, Zou is one of the most popular athletes in China after winning gold medals in the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
