Underground Cage Fighting Championship 2 “This is War”

The Palm Beach County Convention Center hosted a night of the fiercest professional Mixed Martial Arts Action this county has ever seen. There were knockouts, technical knockouts and submissions with only two fights going to the scorecards. Make no mistake, every fighter on the card came here to fight, and there was not one bad showing by any athlete. Hailing from notable gyms such as MMA Masters, Combat Club and American Top Team, the majority of fighters are up and comers with only a few professional fights under their belts, but all gained valuable experience on this night.

The fight of the night goes to a featherweight battle between Corey “Lightning Wolf” Samuels and Michael Rodriguez. Throughout the match, Samuels was hammering Rodriquez with blows that opened up a nasty cut which threatened to end the action. But Rodriguez somehow managed to still be able to see through all that blood and find his way to the Wolf’s neck to pull off the submission.

An equally fierce battle ensued between ATT’s Gabriel Barletta and Shawn “Country Boy” Brown. The scheduled three-rounder was non-stop action from the opening bell with Barletta controlling the pace for most of the time. However, Brown proved to be a ferocious counter-puncher and opened up a deep cut that forced a stoppage following the second round and earning the W.

But these weren’t the only action-packed fights that ended with a surprising reversal. Many bouts were competitive with a single fighter getting the better of some nasty exchanges, only to get KO’d or submitted in a surprising fashion.

UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos was in the arena to support fellow American Top Team fighters Leonardo Carvalho, Gabe Barletta, Caleb Williams (who fought in the co-main event), and Deuce “The Executioner” Garner. Garner is always a crowd favorite and was favored to win his bout against Marino Eatman of MMA Masters, a 32-year old with a record of 3-1-0 going in to this night’s event and whose last fight was in 2016. The bout was stopped for several minutes due to an illegal blow by Eatman, and Deuce Garner was not able to recover enough to get the win.

Also in attendance was Mr. Sam Cohen, long time ringside Physician Dr. Allan Fields, and Dr. Khalilah Camacho-Ali, former wife of the legend, Muhammad Ali.

Kudos to Mr. Armando Gonzalez and his team at Underground Cage Fighting Championships. This was truly an outstanding night of mixed martial arts action. Do not miss the next one!
