June 15, 2019. Hosted by Lou Martinez’ Palm Beach Boxing, the Ultimate Boxing Night pit amateur fighters from across South Florida against a team from the U.K. Participating gyms included Davie PAL, KO Fitness of Hialeah Gardens, Slaughterhouse Boxing of Ft. Lauderdale, Lady Ram Boxing and of course Palm Beach Boxing.
The fourteen scheduled bouts spanned the amateur divisions from Bantam to Elite and consisted of either one, two, or three minute rounds. Competitors ranged in age from 12 to early 30s which shows that the sport of boxing is alive and well. There were Golden Glove veterans and Olympic hopefuls. The skill level displayed by both teams demonstrated a high level of dedication to the sport. The competition was as friendly as it was was fierce, with each bout’s victors honoring their opponent with an exchange of gifts after the fight.
Kudos to all the fighters, their coaches and all involved in this memorable and exciting amateur event.
