The Fighting News

Delray Beach, Florida. Light Heavyweight Steve Geffrard (20-3, 14 KOs) defeated Fidel Monterrosa Munoz (41-31, 33 KOs) by TKO at  2:03 of the first round for the WBA NABA World Light Heavyweight title at  Blacksheep Promotions Fight Night IV. Geffrard is best known for his celebrated amateur career which included over 150 fights, several National Titles, and the distinction of being USA Boxing’s Athlete of the Year in 2010. His photo still hangs on the door of the Boca Raton PAL where he trained in his youth. He is also known for taking a last-minute challenge for the WBO Light Heavyweight Title against Joe Smith, Jr. in January of this year. Although Smith stopped Geffrard in that fight, Geffrard was able to showcase his skills on the world stage.

In the co-main event, light heavyweight Marcos Escuedero (12-2-0, 11 KOs) of Argentina defeated Jonathan Batista (19-17-0, 12 KOs)  by knockout at just 1:20 of the opening round for the WBA NABA Gold Light Heavyweight title. Escuedero possesses an impressive skill set. In 2019, he gave the undefeated Joseph George a run for his money, losing a split decision draw. The two ran it back due to popular demand in 2020, and George managed a ninth round KO victory.

Dyah Davis (25-4-1) also scored a first round KO over his opponent Samuel Miller (35-26) in another light heavyweight contest.

NFL All-pro turned MMA fighter turned professional boxer Greg Hardy won his debut performance via first round KO over fellow debutante Michael Cook of Tulsa.

Heavyweight Alvin Davie (6-3-0) defeated Jorge Armando Martinez (4-8-0) by TKO in the second round of a scheduled four-round bout.

6’6” undefeated heavyweight Gunnar Kristinsson (13-0, 7 KOs) of Iceland defeated Santander Silgado Gelex (31-13-0) by KO in round 2.

Wilemsky Joseph of Miami, FL won his pro debut against veteran Christian Danilo Guido (8-27-0) by unanimous decision.

The outdoor event held at the Delray Beach Tennis Center was halted briefly due to rain, but was an overall success for the fans in attendance. Boxing icon Mike Tyson was in attendance, along with UFC star Rashad Evans, Nate “The Galaxxy Warrior” Campbell, Adrien Broner and other familiar faces.
