Hallandale Beach, FL: On Saturday night, Blake Davis’s BAD Promotions put on its latest show at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, FL. Those in attendance enjoyed a short – yet exciting – boxing card.

The Coller Brothers, who each started their careers with two knockouts apiece, began the night in Fights #1 and #2. Geremiah Coller (3-0, 3 KOs) easily handled his opponent – who didn’t seem to belong in the ring – en route to another TKO victory. Lameck Coller (2-1, 2 KOs), however, fought a tactical battle but just didn’t do enough to take the rounds. Kendly St. Louis (1-0), who made his debut that night, came away with the win. After the fight, St. Louis stated that he is ready for the next challenge as he begins his professional boxing career.

The real action began in Fight #3, where Lightweight Jordon Murphy (1-0, 1 KO) made a splash with his professorial boxing debut performance. Jordon warmed up his game in Round 1 before dropping his opponent midway through the second round. When Steve Merrill (0-3) returned to his feet, he was met with a barrage of punches, which didn’t let up until referee, Sam Burgos, stepped in to call a stop to the action.

In the co-main event, “Pistol” Pete Dobson (14-0, 9 KOs) had a bit of a shootout (pun intended) with his opponent, Andres Viera (10-4, 8 KOs), en route to a 5th Round TKO victory. Throughout the fight, Viera stayed busy and landed shots here and there, but it was Dobson who landed the power punches, which inevitably ended the fight. After a crushing blow to the liver, Viera took a knee. He returned to his feet and beat the count. However, after being asked if he could continue, he shook his head in disappointment. Referee Alan Abeles waved the fight off at 2:15 of Round 5.

In the main event, “BAD” Blake Davis (8-0, 5 KOs) put on a clinic, as the fight was nothing less than a one-sided affair. Davis, who had a very visible reach advantage, kept his distance throughout the fight and landed at will. Tyler Vogel (3-5, 2 KOs) barely made an attempt to move inside and was never able to find his target. Davis, however, found his target several times over, specifically in the form of the overhand right. It was that punch, which landed multiple times throughout the fight, that ultimately ended Vogel’s night. After there was a lull in the action in the 4th round, the fight came to an abrupt halt in Round 5, when that aforementioned overhand right made an appearance in the opening minute of the round. One final punch is all it took, as Vogel violently hit the canvas and needed assistance to be helped back to his feet. Medical attention was necessary, but Tyler was okay. In the end, however, Blake Davis once again raised his hand in victory as his unbeaten streak continues in his bid to become a legitimate Light Heavyweight / Cruiserweight contender.

So, to recap the night: There were two decisions, two referee stoppages, and one vicious knockout. So, yes, although the night was short, it was certainly action-packed and will be remembered. Blake Davis and BAD Promotions will be back to action in just eight weeks. The next event will, again, be held at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach on Saturday, October 16th.
