Rumble At The Rock 2: The Results: Hollywood, FL:

They’ve done it again! The marriage between The Heavyweight Factory and The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL seems to be meshing very well. Labeled “Rumble at the Rock 2”, Kris Lawrence and his team put on another great boxing card Friday night. The crowd was limited but those in attendance were treated to some great fights. Never once was a “boo” heard either by a lull in the action, bad refereeing, or a bad decision.

In the main event, crowd favorite Logan Yoon (13-0, 10 KOs) kept his unbeaten streak alive, as well as his NABO Super Lightweight belt. Pitching a complete shoutout on one judge’s scorecard – as well as that of this reporter – Logan had the fight well at hand by Round 3. By Round 4, “The Korican Kid” was completely dictating the pace against a very overmatched John “El Emperador” Renteria (16-5-1, 12 KOs) of Panama City, Panama. Yoon, who is celebrating his 20th birthday today, seems to be well on his way to super-stardom as he grows with the sport. Happy birthday, Logan!

In the co-main event, the fans were treated to the fight of the night. Two excellent Cuban fighters squared off with the fanbase of each equaled in the stands. From the onset of the fight, both men began to show their power. Midway through Round 2, though, it appeared that Livan “The Machine Gun Kid” Navarro (9-0, 6 KOs) was dictating the pace. By Round 3, Navarro was now in control. Armando “The Gentleman” Alvarez (18-2, 12 KOs) was able to get back in the fight in Round 4 but to no avail. In the end, Navarro prevailed with scores of 98-92, 97-93, 97-93. This reporter had a scorecard showing 98-92 for Navarro, as well, giving Alvarez Rounds 4 & 9.

In an earlier fight, Featherweight Mussa “Warrior” Tursyngaliyev (8-0, 6 KOs) easily outpointed Deivi Julio “El Cabo” Bassa (20-6, 12 KOs) to retain his NABA USA Featherweight Title after 8 rounds of boxing. The knockout didn’t come, but Mussa put it the work to get the win and remain undefeated in his campaign to being a great featherweight. A native of Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan, Tursyngaliyev looks to join the likes of Gennady Golovkin and Ivan Dychko as a Kazakh notable.

Other winners on the night were Irosvani Duvergel (4-0, 2 KOs), Dusty Arnold (6-1, 1 KO), Jorge de Jesus Romero (11-0, 9 KOs), Jessy Cruz (14-7, 6 KOs), & Derrieck Cuevas (18-0-1, 14 KOs). It’s now time to get ready for Rumble at the Rock 3, which has already been set for Friday, November 30th. Same time. Same place. We at the Fighting News hope to see you there!
