Hard-hitting New York native Pablo Valdez returns to action on February 20 on the One For All Promotions card at the Caribe Royal Resort, Orlando, Florida.
Valdez is currently 4-0 with all 4 coming via way of knockout, and is guided by Gary Stark Sr and Andre Rozier. Despite spending close to ten years away from the ring, Valdez has utilized his time effectively and looks to pick up where he left off as the world phases out of the pandemic.
Valdez opened up about his ring return. “I’m very happy to be back in the ring. Everybody knows I spent 8 years away from boxing, but I’ve made use of my time coming back in and out of boxing. I’ve changed my life and I’m all about progressing and succeeding in everything I do. I have great people around me such as Andre Rozier, Gary Stark Sr, Dave Honig, and Edgar Berlanga just to name some. It’s these great people who helped me get back to my best in boxing.
“This camp has been great. I’ve had help from Sherif Younan and his son, Kike Bermudez and Richard Commey amongst others. This is some of the best work you can get when it comes to a camp so I am very grateful for this setup which will help me produce a career best performance.
“I’m excited to be on the card on February 20.I’ve sold lots of tickets like I always do and I’m so grateful for that support. I was supposed to be fighting on a Top Rank card last year which was canceled and that was devastating, but I stayed in the gym and working hard and I’m going to put on the best performance of my career on February 20 in Orlando.”
Valdez is very close with the knockout star Edgar Berlanga Jr who has emerged as a superstar on ESPN and is considered by many as 2020’s Prospect of the Year. ‘Pretty Boy’ Valdez discussed his relationship with Berlanga Jr.
The New Yorker said, “Edgar Berlanga is like a brother to me. He is not just a great fighter but he’s a great human being. It is great being a part of the team and enjoying the journey. All the people around Edgar are good people who have been with him for years. I have been around a lot of good fighters and he is one of the best if not the best I’ve seen in and out of the ring.
“I think Edgar is going to be a world superstar. He is the hottest up and coming talent right now and I believe he is going to be up there with the likes of Canelo Alvarez in the future. That’s how far I think he can go in boxing and I believe he will do that.”
