Entrobox Championship Boxing ”Bad Boys”

The Fighting News

Entrobox Championship Boxing “Bad Boys” took over the Caribe Royale Orlando with the help of Boxlab Promotions an an action-packed card courtesy of matchmaker Melvin “Chico” Rivas.

The card featured several hometown favorites and some tough competition.
In the opening bout, a super featherweight signed to Mayweather Promotions, Dorian Khan Jr (1-0)  displayed posise and skill, defeating debutante David Allen Morgan at 2:59 of the first round.
In the next bout, super welterweight Ramiro De Jesus (1-0-0)  put in four good rounds against the more-experienced Alberto Delgado(1-20-4) and almost put him away for good with a flurry at the end of the bout. Judges scored the bout 40-35 on all three cards.
Next up was a super bantam weight bout featuring former Olympian Antonio Vargas (13-1-0)  of Orlando. Vargas took control early in round one, working behind the jab and finding a home for his combinations. His opponent, Samuel Gutierrez(16-37-6) landed one good flurry before returning to his corner. Gutierrez came out with more confidence in round two and the pace was steady until Vargas landed a strong right hand to the body. Round three ended with some nice combinations from Vargas. Vargas really shined in the fourth round and took Gutierrez into deep waters, almost drowning him at the end.Vargas came out strong again in round five, scoring a knockdown at  2:38 of round five, at which point Gutierrez corner stopped the contest
Kicking off the broadcast show was Kevin Brown, considered the hottest new prospect from Cuba, making his pro debut against former WBA lightweight champion Jose Alfaro (31-12-1). Brown took to the stage like a seasoned veteran.Unfortunately,  Alfaro had street fighting on his mind and threw Brown to the ground with a double leg takedown. Brown regained his composure and the ref had to warn Alfaro once more during the round for dirty tactics. Brown dropped Alfaro early in the second round for a count of seven, then swarmed his opponent. Alfaro went down again. He managed to make it back to his feet, but it only took one more flurry from Brown to force Alfaro to quit and take a knee in the center of the ring. The action was called at 2:04 of round 2 for a TKO victory.
Orlando’s Derrick “Diesel” Jackson took on Marklin Bailey next in a six round contest at super welterweight. Jackson was clearly the aggressor  in the first two rounds and had his opponent hurt towards the end of the second. The action in the third was all Jackson. After checking in with the ring doctor for a leg injury to Bailey, the referee stopped the action at 1:09 with Jackson overpowering his opponent.
In the next bout, super lightweight Orestes Velazquez (4-0-0) dropped Emiliano Martin Garcia (17-7-1) from Argentina in round one and twice more in round two of their bout. The fight was called at the third knockdown of the round at the 2:38 minute mark.
In the main event of the evening for the WBA Inter-Continental Super Lightweight title, Kenneth Sims Jr.  of Chicago took on Cristian Ruben Mino (22-5-2)  of Argentina. Sims was able to capitalize on his height and reach advantage and dictate the pace of the fight. Mino was able to land a few nice body shots including one that landed a little low, but Sims kept his composure. Sims dropped Mino with a short body punch at the end of round four.
Early in round five Sims landed another body shot that dropped the Argentinian again. But it was a devastating right hook that landed soon after that finally ended the contest.

Heavyweights Adrian Pinheiro (8-0-0) and Jose Humberto Corral (20-30-0) of Mexico took to the ring next. Corral came in throwing wide looping hooks with both hands while Pinheiro stuck to a more orthodox and effective fight plan. Corral seemed gassed at the beginning of round two and took a right hand to the midsection that continued to drain his energy. Corral continued to fight on but failed to land anything effective. Pinheiro continued to land at will to the body and head of Corral, who spit his mouthpiece out in frustration. The action continued and Corral lasted until the end of the round. However, he refused to answer the bell for round three and Pinheiro was awarded the win at 2:59of round two.
Ending the night was fan favorite Jeovanny “El Rayo” Estela (8-0-0) taking on Ramon De la Cruz Sena (23-33-3) of Argentina at super welter-weight. Estela showed a superior jab, mixing levels to the body and head and was more effective in round one. Sena seemed confused by Estela’s style. In round two, Estela continued to double and triple up on the jab and control the action. Round three saw Estela landing more combinations with Sena shaking them off. Sena went another round without landing any significant shots. Estela unloaded on Sena at the beginning of round four and throughout round five controlled the action. Estrela stalked and Sena balked in in round six, but no amount of showboating would sway the judges who scored the fight 60-54 on all cards for Estela.
