BKFC-30 RESULTS: ‘CHAMP CHAMP’ LORENZO HUNT WINS

 BEN ROTHWELL SCORES FIRST ROUND KNOCKOUT IN BKFC DEBUT

Monroe, LA (October 1, 2022) Fighting in front of a packed house at the Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe, LA, Lorenzo ‘The Juggernaut’ Hunt, (8-1, 7 KOs), defeated hometown favorite Quentin ‘The Hero’ Henry, (5-2, 5 KOs), for the vacant Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), Cruiserweight World Title. 

Headlining BKFC-30, also broadcast globally on the BKFC App, Hunt used his athletic skill advantage and tight defense to win the first two rounds. The aggressive Henry landed successfully in the first minute of the third stanza, however Hunt countered with a short right hand and followed up with a successful sequence of power shots to drop the popular Monroe, LA native. With Henry unable to beat the count, Hunt was declared the victor at 1:36 of round three. 

With the win, Hunt becomes BKFC’s second fighter to achieve ‘Champ Champ’ status joining Luis Palomino. Hunt also holds the BKFC’s Light Heavyweight World Title. 

Co-featured at BKFC-30, former UFC star ‘Big’ Ben Rothwell, (1-0, 1KO), made his triumphant heavyweight debut in BKFC with a first-round demolition of longtime BKFC veteran Bobo ‘The Bible Belt Brawler’ O’Bannon, (3-4). Starting quick from the opening bell, Rothwell drilled O’Bannon to the canvas from a barrage of power shots. With O’Bannon being counted out, Rothwell was declared the winner at the 0:19 mark of the first round. 

In the middleweight division, Kaleb ‘Lionheart’ Harris, (5-4), scored a second-round stoppage of  Harris ‘Sandman’ Stephenson, (5-2, 3 KOs).  Time of the stoppage was 1:46. 

Fighting in the light heavyweight division. Dennis Labruzza, (1-0, 1 KO), stopped  Duke Sensley, (0-1), in the fourth round (0:38), as both fighters made their debut under the BKFC banner. 

Also featured on the undercard in the welterweight division,  Brandon ‘The Shredder’ Shavers (1-0, 1 KO), knocked out Nathan Mitchell, (0-2). Time of the stoppage was 0:59 of the opening stanza. 

Light heavyweight Tony ‘The Way’ Jenkins, (1-0, 1 KO), was successful in his BKFC debut scoring a third-round knockout (1:05) of Ravon ‘Big Shot’ Baxter, (1-1). 

In the middleweight division, veteran Noah Cutter, (2-4, 1 KO), returned to the win column with a second-round stoppage of BKFC debuting Blake LaCaze, (0-1). Time of the finish was 1:09.  

Fighting in a hotly contested heavyweight battle, Juan Torres (1-2), defeated Zach Calmus (1-2), of Gloucester, MA by split decision. Scores were 49-46, 48-47 and 47-48.  

Rounding out BKFC-30 in the featherweight division,  David ‘The Boss’ Bosnick (1-0), won a unanimous decision over ManuelThibodeaux (0-1). The judge’s scorecards read 50-44, 49-46 and 49-45 for Bosnick.
