Premier Boxing Champions put on yet another event Sunday night. Bounce TV once again broadcast the event on its network, as well as streamed it live online @ BounceTV.com. The stacked, 9-fight event was hosted by the Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee in Immokalee, FL. The night turned out to be anything but boring, as 18 fighters entered the ring with winning on their minds.
Erickson Lubin of Orlando, FL (14-0, 10 KOs) shined as he beat down José De Jesus Macias (18-5-2, 9 KOs) for 10 rounds in the main event. Lubin has only been pro for 2 years but is already making a name for himself. The fighter has never fought an opponent with an upside-down record and now looks to be in contention for a belt within the next 12-18 months.
In the co-main event, Joseph Elegele (15-2, 11 KOs) stopped Alex De Jesus (21-2, 13 KOs) by TKO in the 6th round of their scheduled 8-rounder. Elegele knocked De Jesus down in the 3rd and again in the 6th before referee James Warring called an end to the bout @ :56.
Other winners Sunday night included Hakeem Atkinson, Jesus Lule, David Grayton, Harold Calderon, Ray Lampkin, & Dyah Davis, who is the son of the late Howard Davis, Jr.
In addition to this long list of winners, I cannot close by mentioning one more. Lightweight Dennis Galarza (12-1, 8 KOs) was very impressive in his one-sided win over Samual Amaoko (21-7, 15 KOs). Galarza, with his father in his corner, bullied Amaoko for 8 rounds en route to a shutout on all 3 judges’ cards.
As always, there were stars in attendance. Austin Trout, Lamon Brewster, Freddie Pendleton, Mike Brown, and John David Jackson were on hand just to name a few. Overall, it was a great night for boxing. The Fighting News would like to thank The Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee, Premier Boxing Champions, Al Haymon, King Promotions, & Marc Abrams for putting on the event. We hope to see you all again at the next one!
