On Saturday night, September the 5th, 2015, promoters The Heavyweight Factory along with the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, will host the boxing event of the year: “World Heavyweight Champions-Saturday Fight Night.” In attendance will be more than twenty (20) former World Heavyweight Champions, including the legendary Larry Holmes, the Brothers Spinks-Michael and Leon, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Roy Jones Jr., Riddick “Big Daddy” Bowe, James “Bonecrusher” Smith, Ray Mercer, Michael Moorer, Tim Witherspoon, Pinklon Thomas, Bruce Seldon, Mike Weaver, Tony Tubbs, Tony Tucker, Lamon Brewster, Chris Byrd, John Ruiz and Michael Bentt. Even the great Iron Mike Tyson is scheduled to appear at some of the pre-fight events.
And who better to call the headlining bout than Michael Buffer? Let’s Get Ready to R-r-u-u-m-m-b-l-e!!!
The main bout is scheduled for 12 rounds and features Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs (58-6-1, 51 KOs), current world record holder for first round knockouts and former World Heavyweight Champion, taking on Mike Marrone (21-4, 15 KOs) and fighting out of Vero Beach, FL. Can Briggs, at age 43, add to his list of first round knockouts? We will see soon enough. Do not miss this event.
